Modesta_Gorol_edited.jpg

printmaker and painter

Modesta Gorol (PL)

Through her art, she tells visual stories suspended in two-dimensional space of canvas and paper. She constructs imagined worlds, inviting the viewers to explore them, by uncovering small, often concealed entrances. Within each world, unique characters— animals, plants, and anthropomorphized beings—interact in the visual narrative.

With a background in piano performance, she finds deep connections between music and visual art, drawing inspiration from sounds to shape her creative, process.

Jaco Putker (NL)

Jaco combines digital and traditional techniques to produce images which are both playful and sinister, nostalgic and magical. His preferred medium is photopolymer, or solar plate, etching. This technique is a non-toxic way of etching which allow for photorealistic depictions.

Jaco draws inspiration from everyday life and the workings of the subconscious mind
to create intricate monochromatic prints that blur the lines between reality and imagination. They are whimsical snapshots of existence that encapsulate the
profound, the humorous, and the enigmatic.

visual artist

Gosia Kulik (PL)

Her artistic practice is a blend of art and anthropology. She approaches her subjects with the meticulous eye of a field researcher, creating extensive visual and verbal notes that evolve into narrative sequences, micro-stories, and compelling imagery. Kulik’s work, which spans painting, drawing, and graphic novels, is deeply rooted in text —from literary scripts and press articles to direct witness accounts. She uses these
foundations to explore human dramas, social commentary, and amusing genre scenes, often documenting the life of her adopted city through projects like the drawing series on WrocÅ‚aw’s Market Hall (MiÄ™so, kwiaty i Å›piew ptaków).

Known for her sharp storytelling, she is the author of award-winning graphic novels and co-author of several highly praised educational picture books, created in collaboration with Tomek Żarnecki. Her work has been twice recognized at the prestigious Bologna

Hanna Karaleva copy_edited_edited.jpg

painter

Hanna Karaleva (BY)

Hanna Karaleva (born 1962 in Minsk, Belarus) received her education at the Belarussian Academy of Arts. For several years she taught painting and design at the A.K. Glebov Art School in Minsk.

Hanna Karaleva's art is mostly inspired by memories and attitudes. A defining feature of her artistic practice is the unexpected reading of the relationship between animate and inanimate nature in order to find new forms of expressions of human psychological states.

Her works dissect and explore the world around her. Like a visual diary. Nothing is static. She conveys this by embedding her characters' bodies in a fragile glass medium, which expresses a sense of ephemerality and imbalance.

Hanna is a member of the Union of Designers of Belarus, a friend of the Union of Artists of Belarus, a member of the artist group "Ark", Minsk, Belarus. She was part of the Belarusian-Swedish symposium “She was” 2022, which was dedicated to famous women in Belarus. Her art has been exhibited among others in Estonia, Poland, Austria, Germany, France, the Netherlands and the USA.

Yvette Schoenmakers_atelier copy 2.jpg

printmaker

Yvette Schoenmakers (NL)

Dutch printmaker, living in Weesp (Amsterdam), the Netherlands. In 2019 she started experimenting with linocut and it quickly turned her life around. Soon after she quit her academic career and devoted herself to this traditional form of printmaking.

Her work expresses her love for Dutch nature and playfully mirrors her observations of the human relationship to animals and the outdoors. Usually her linocuts contain autobiographic elements; they are the result of field studies or personal encounters and life experiences. Lino printmaking fascinates her as both simplifying and complex: it demands slowing down and “flip-thinking”, as everything is reversed. Once something is cut out, there’s no turning back. It’s challenging to slowly construct a print through subsequent ink layers that are cut from the same linoleum block. Using this reduction technique, she roughly follow a plan and partly work intuitively. She loves printmaking craftsmanship, the graphic ‘rough around the edges’ aesthetic, and the pure magic of the print ‘peel-and-reveal’.

AntonioAzevedo.jpg

master of assemblage and miniatures

Antonio Azevedo (PT)

António Azevedo is a renowned artist who uses model figurines to tell stories within small square frames. His project "Once Upon a Time..." already features more than 300 acts, each one portraying a reimagined everyday scene with meticulous attention to detail.

Through exercises in set design and scale, he creates unique atmospheres that ignite our imagination.

Although his background is in fashion drawing, António Azevedo has developed his professional activity in visual merchandising and window display. He has collaborated directly with renowned brands such as Burberry, Levi's, Swarovski, Armani, among others. However, his artistic creation projects emerged spontaneously and gradually took on a more significant role in his life. By exploring new mediums and techniques, the artist seeks elements that carry strong symbolism and are filled with stories while maintaining a craft-based approach in his pieces.

photographer

 Vilma Leino (FI)

Her work focuses on self-portraiture, which she uses to reflect inner emotions, childhood memories, solitude, and difficult psychological stages.  In her work, she creates female characters with untold stories and experiments with intense color schemes and composition, creating a space where comedy and panic meet each other and playfulness soothes dark topics. Her photographs are a one-woman show where being in control and the fear of losing it are in constant dialogue, forming a story about personal growth where fears are forming into strength.
